CAF awards; here are the players who are likely to be crown the best CAF men's player of the year

 


Few days before the ceremony, the confederation of Africa football has released the names for the final shortlist of the 2024 CAF men's player of the year award. On the list are Simon Adingra (cote d'Ivoire), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco), Ronwen Williams (south Africa) and Ademola Lookman (Nigeria)
Ahead of the ceremony, jogobi sports rank's all the  players with their best chances to win the award 

5. Ronwen Williams (south Africa)

The south Africa goalkeepers penalty saves at the last CAF Nations cup will never be forgotten in a long time as he was integral to the south Africa achievement of bronze medal.
He also captain his country to qualify for the 2025caf Africa cup of the nations, he was also nominated for FIFA'S best goalkeeper 2024. 5/10

4. Serhou Guirassy (Guinea)

In a standout campaign Guirassy scored a remarkable 30 goals in 30 games for Stuttgart in the 2023/2024 season which includes a tally of 18 bundesliga goal. He scored 23 goals for both club and country in the year under review 6/10

3. Simon Adingra (cote d'Ivoire)

Brighton star winger Adingra was instrumental in the success cote d'Ivoire have in 2023 Africa cup of the nations title on the home land, he scored in the game against Mali and made 2 assist in the final Vs Nigeria. 7/10

2. Achraf Hakimi (Morocco)

Hakimi has always been one of the best right backs in the world and had a fruitful year with PSG winning two titles in 2023/2024 season. He was also key figure for Morocco in total energies CAF Africa cup of nations. Also he scored against democratic republic of congo.8.5/10

1. Ademola Lookman (Nigeria)

Lookman has been in a spectacular form in 2024 , he is integral in the rise of Atalanta into title contenders, he helped Atalanta to win a first ever Uefa Europa League scoring a hat-trick in the final to overpower Bayer Leverkusen.
He was the key figure to Nigeria spectacular campaign in the 2023 Africa cup of the nations where they narrowly lost the host country. He scored three goals and assisted one in the competition 
In this season he has taken the world by storm with 8 goals and 5 assist in all competitions so far. 9.5/10 
Conclusion 
Both players have done well and any of them could be crown the next CAF men's player of the year. Who do you want to win the next CAF mens player of the year?

Nigeria super star Ademola Lookman has been name the best Africa player of the year 2024. Lookman who was nominated alongside Simon Adingra, Achraf Hakimi, and other African stars was named by the confederation of Africa football the winner of this year CAF men's player award. Lookman who have the best season of his career in 2024 won a Europa League with Atalanta scoring a hat-trick in the final match against Bayern Leverkusen, he was also instrumental to the super eagles campaign in the total energies Africa cup of the nations where he scored three goals and assisted one. He also finished 13th in the 2024 balloon dio ranking  This development have seen Nigeria players wins the award for the last two years, Victor osimhen won the award for the previous year  The award also marked a significant achievement of the young super eagles attacker in his career
